Black Friday is upon us!

I have to admit something.... I love working Black Friday!!!  This day for me as a store owner I get to really enjoy the store.  I love the energy and this day really makes the long hours and sleepless nights worth it because I get to sit back and see how far this little store has come!  We have a lot of growing to do, but from where it started I am so thankful and proud of Rabbit in the Moon.  With that said I hope all of you come and join us this weekend!  We have some great merchandise for all ages.  Happy Shopping!

Short and sweet.... tired

I am starting this late tonight.  I have been painting a mural this week and although it is really relaxing to put music on and just paint all day, I am still very tired.  I am beginning to think about Christmas.  I can't believe it!  I found a couple of cute stocking stuffers and gift wrap ideas.  I think I am going to start decorating this weekend.

Satcked books

Ok I have to confess I am not a huge bookworm.  When I do read a good book you can't pry me away, but mostly I just like books to decorate with.  Sad, but true.  I like to use them for extra height under a piece that needs a little lift, I like to stack them in odd places to fill space.  I just like the look of them in room.  Kind of makes the room feel lived in and old.  When I see pictures of rooms in magazines that have a bunch of books I am always intrigued by the room and the creative ways that books are used to be more of an art piece.

Example: If you don't have a fireplace that is useable, this is so interesting to me.  I may be resorting to doing this in my fireplace to remind that every time I use it during the winter that smoke fills the house.... and this is much cuter than logs.  In my opinion.

And here are some uses of books around my pad...... I use them everywhere.  And for the bookshelf I get most of them at Goodwill and just make sure it has a cute title or the spine of the book looks good. :)  I have found some really cool books!!  Excuse the picture quality.  It was on my cellular.

Janet Hill Studio

Janet Hill Studio is an Etsy shop that I found a while back and I love her art work.  I was looking through my favorites on my account and looked at some of her paintings tonight and she is incredible.  I now noticed that she is selling her originals... pretty pricey, but well worth it!!  Maybe one day.  She also has for sell copies of her originals that can be framed that are great as well.  I have a couple that I am saving for something.  They are very feminine and would be great for powder rooms, teen rooms, perhaps a closet if you have one of "those" closets and I am thinking to put mine in my art room, when it is finished. 

Go look her up, you won't be disappointed!!

This little arrangement above is sort of what the scheme will be for the living room and I am liking it.. so the fabric I ordered will go somewhere else.  The green is close to the color of my couch.  I like to call it Kate Spade green.  After all that is why I covered it in kelly green.  A Kate Spade ad was my inspiration!  I can't find it to show you.

I know this may be confusing... this is how my brain works frequently and it is MUCH easier to see it in front of me than to keep it up in my brain!  And it helps you to see that you can create rooms very easily!

Just ordered this.  Not sure where I am going to put it, but I sure am in love with colors.  I am thinking in the living room.... purchased from Designers Attic.

** Oh and as a side note, I love the picture above.  How the shelves are displayed.  This is one of my favorite things to do, rearrange shelves (that is a totally different post).  See the red chair?  I recently found 2 bamboo chairs at Goodwill for $12.50 each.  Do you know how excited I was?!**

 

When the room starts coming together, I will show pics.  I have been fretting over this room for quite some time because I have a bright green couch to work around.  It was from my apartment days right after college and I was still in the "college" decor mentality.  My style is now defined and a bright green couch is hard to work around.  I need to have it reupholstered, but I have other priorities ahead of that like new windows with grids and window boxes!!

Hope you have a fabulous Sunday.  I love Sundays because I love church, it starts my week in the right direction, but it is hard because you know Monday is the next day.  So I am going to leave you with this picture.  I have it saved on my computer and every time I look at it is makes me smile. 

 

And through the holidays, you WILL see me sport the red lips w/ fur.  That reminds me of a little tune by Flo Rida.. which ALWAYS makes me want to break out in dance.  Did I just admit that?!

Random and gallery style art

So I have a love/hate relationship with many things.  Some of these things include IKEA, Ballard Design, do it yourself projects and EBAY.  While in California I really fell in love (not the look, but the comfort) with the Classic Cardy Knit Ugg boots.  I have never liked Uggs, sorry if you have them and Nathan, the husband, reminds me that I have always made fun of them.  And to his defense I have.  I don't understand why they are worn with some things like jean shorts, short skirts, workout shorts.... they are meant to be worn in the winter with jeans for warmth and comfort.  But when I went into the store to look with my sister I tried these on and I thought they were so comfortable and really cute.  I like the slouch, they can be worn short or long and they were gray.  I love gray.  Well the price wasn't right so I got on EBAY and ordered me a pair and paid $113 for them.  I was so excited.  Well I just got them and they are to big.  They are the same size that I tried on in the store and these say the same size in the shoe and on the box and they are WAY TO BIG!!  I am so bummed.  It is going to get cold and I want to wear them.  So EBAY can be so good, but oh so bad at times!!

 

 

Now onto my love for artwork that is displayed gallery style in houses.  I love this.  It makes such a statement and fills a large wall that otherwise would be empty.  And the best part is you can frame all kinds of stuff to fill the spots... one of my favorite things to do is frame pictures from botanical books, calendar pictures, wrapping paper... cards.

On my list

I always have something on my radar.  Usually it gets keeps me in trouble with the other half.  These are some things that I am eyeing right now before the holidays.  Hint Hint...  well I do have to admit some of them I have already gotten simply because I couldn't wait.  American mentality right?  Pretty sad.

 

This is Jazz.  I love it.  Tomorrow my nails will be painted in it.  And toes, but who cares it's winter.

 

 

Ok have you heard of EmersonMade?!  If not check her out.  She started with creating flowers that you can put on anything... then she just recently has started a clothing line.  I love it.  I am waiting very, very patiently for that belt above.  It is sold out.  I. Love. It.  And not only in the second picture do I LOVE the skirt and really need want it, I love the picture!  Those chickens are so cute and I love the Hunter boots with the skirt (I would never wear together, but for the picture effect). The gravel road, the trees, makes me wished I lived on a farm and could really do work on the farm in that outfit.  I guess that comment right there means I wouldn't do to well on a farm?!

 

Never in my life did I think that I would ever like these shoes.  I always thought they (TOMS) were rather odd until I started seeing the adorable prints.  I got these for fall and absolutely loved them.  Today while reading a blog, I stumbled on these and think they are so cute.  Just the right mix of sparkle and casual.  great for everyday errand running and even in the store on the days I am a "janitor".  At least I would LOOK put together while cleaning toilets.

 

This stuff, is great!  I LOVE the packaging.  This company has gotten it right!!  I know the picture is of lotion, but I found the hand soap at Target.  It not only looks really cute by your sink contrary to most soap dispensers it smells WONDERFUL!!!!  And today I found that they make it in lotion.... so I will be on way in the morning to pick up this stuff in the lotion.  It is heavenly.  I am really, really obsessed with smells.    They make all sorts of products.  Oh I just can't get over the packaging... LOVE IT!

Yes I told you I was obsessed with smells.  My sister got me hooked on Jo Malone perfume.  I recently made my first purchase while in San Fran and I just can't get enough.  The philosophy behind this line is to layer, which I love.  I feel every outfit has a different scent that should go along with it and you can do it with Jo Malone.  I got the Pomegranate Noir and layer with a couple of different samples they gave me.

 

 

I love grey and I love fur.  I am fully aware that fur this season is very trendy and these pieces above are very trendy, but when you pay the prices I did for these pieces, you don't care.  And I am also aware that the pictures of these pieces look rather weird... like totally ugly and the second picture of the vest looks just barbaric, really.  But they are really cute in person and great for the winter and the grey is so cute for the holidays.  And both paired with my nails painted in the Essie, Jazz above... I am set :).  Oh yeah, these are both Forever 21, the grey is on line only.  I didn't see it at the store.

 

And a pair of these would be nice.  Wanting to change around my family room a tad.  This is Serena and Lily.
